The MAF, an NNCI facility at the University of Washington, in collaboration with The National ESCA and Surface Analysis Center for Biomedical Problems (NESAC/BIO) will host a biomedical characterization workshop on the UW campus July 29-30. Workshop attendees will learn the nuts and bolts of surface characterization including commonly used methods and data analysis techniques. Lectures are accompanied by demonstrations on MAF instruments to provide attendees with a better understanding of the materials covered in workshop lectures.
Lectures include:
• Introduction to Surface Characterization (Lara Gamble)
• Electron Microscopy for Chemical Analysis (Lara Gamble)
• Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (Dan Graham)
• Scanning Probe Microscopy (Micah Glaz)
• SPR and QCMD (David Castner)
• Multivariate Data Analysis (Dan Graham)
• Transmission Electron Microscopy (Ellen Lavoie)
• Scanning Electron Microscopy (Scott Braswell)
• Multi-technique Biomedical Surface Analysis (Buddy Ratner)
